About Us
Peru and the lower 27 townships of LaSalle County, IL. Bridges is a senior community center that offers information, education, recreation programs and support for older adults, adults with disabilities and caregivers. It is funded in part by the United Way of Eastern LaSalle County and United Way of Illinois Valley.
Mission
- Promote personal and improve the self image of older people
- Respond to the individuals needs and interests
- Respond to individual difference such as lifestyle, ethnicity, values, experiences, needs, interests, abilities, skills, age and health status.
Bridges History
Bridges Community Center; a program of Alternatives opened its doors in 2003 under an amendment to the Older Americans Act of 1965. the act is a Federal law created to help older Americans live in their homes with safety and dignity as long as possible with appropriate services and support. We are part of a vast, national network of services and programs to protect the rights and support the needs of older Americans.
Hours of Operation
Open 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday through Friday
Our office is closed all major holidays, including Martin Luther King Day and President’s Day.
